Three stones side by side, the largest in the middle: the trilogy motif is an old jeweller's convention standing for past, present and future. Here the band carries the idea on and is set all the way round, with no plain stretch. The centre stone is a cushion cut, square with softened corners, held in double claws and raised well clear of the band. The two round side stones flank it at the same height, and below them the narrow band continues in an unbroken row of small stones. Worn: the silver shows fine scratches and a darker tone in the recesses. The centre stone has a light haze across the table, the kind that forms on stones worn daily. All stones sit firmly.
